Living Well With Sight Loss

Just been diagnosed?

Diagnosis can be an emotional experience which can leave you feeling confused, overwhelmed and anxious about what lies ahead. Your eye specialist can refer you to the Eye Care Liaison Officer (ECLO) for practical and emotional support in the hospital.

Emotional Support

It is common to experience a range of feelings or emotions after your diagnosis. You may experience feelings similar to those of someone who is going through a bereavement. You will need time to gradually come to terms with your sight changes.

How MySight York Can Help

Helen Flett is the Eye Care Liaison Officer (ECLO) employed by MySight York based in the Eye Clinic at York Hospital. She supports people affected by sight loss, acting as a bridge between medical care and wider support services that can help you live well with sight loss.
