Help someone with sight loss live well in York

Each year, more than 1,700 people living with sight loss turn to MySight York for practical and emotional support, healthcare advice, and connection. It costs £300,000 a year just to keep these services running and free for everyone who needs them — the bare minimum to keep our doors open.

As a registered charity, 90% of our services are funded through donations, so please consider making a gift today.

The difference your generosity makes

What your support makes possible every day

Our work reaches individuals, families, and the whole of York, but it always starts the same way: expert, tailored help for the person in front of us.

From the moment of diagnosis, to living life to the full, we support people at every stage of their sight loss journey.

Here’s just a glimpse of what your support makes possible:

Delivering hundreds of consultations a year, helping people live independently.

A counsellor in glasses and a dark jacket makes notes on a clipboard while listening to a woman sitting across from her, in a bright, homely office.

Befriending volunteers

Over 600 hours a year of companionship, easing isolation.

Several people take part in an indoor exercise class, standing in a circle and stretching purple resistance bands above and around their bodies.
