What Digital Vision will set out to achieve.
We are delighted to announce that MySight York has been awarded funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to deliver Digital Vision: Bridging the Digital Divide After Sight Loss. This project aims to improve digital inclusion and wellbeing for people with sight loss across York and the surrounding areas.
Through this funding, we will help ensure that more people can access the opportunities, services and connections that digital technology can provide. As the digital world continues to play an increasingly important role in everyday life, Digital Vision will support people with sight loss to build confidence, develop skills and engage more independently with technology.
The project will also work with local organisations to encourage more inclusive and accessible digital practices.
As we begin this journey, we will be engaging with people with sight loss, partners and the wider community to help shape and inform the project’s development.
Our Impact
What We Aim to Achieve
For People with Sight Loss
- Support people with sight loss across York and the surrounding areas to improve their confidence, skills and independence in using digital technology.
- Help individuals access the tools, information, services and opportunities that matter to them in their daily lives.
- Encourage greater participation in community activities and social connections through improved digital inclusion.
- Empower people with sight loss to share their experiences and help shape a more accessible and inclusive digital environment.
For Organisations
- Work with organisations across York and the surrounding areas to improve the accessibility and inclusivity of their digital services and communications.
- Support organisations to better understand and respond to the needs of people with sight loss.
- Encourage the development of more accessible opportunities, helping to remove barriers to participation and engagement.
- Promote inclusive digital practices that benefit a wider range of people within the community.
