York Disability Week: Sight Loss Awareness and Sighted Guiding – Training Delivered by MySight York

As part of York Disability Week 2024, York BID and the Business School at York St John University are delighted to be inviting MySight York to deliver this free, half-day course to York businesses.

We will cover:

  • Information on the main eye conditions
  • How these eye conditions can impact on accessing a particular service or business
  • Statistics relevant to York
  • Plus, an applicable sighted guiding practical.

The aim is for you to have a greater understanding of the challenges faced by blind and partially sighted people to improve your employee confidence and be able to deliver the best service to your customers with sight loss.

There is on-site parking for Blue Badge holders subject to availability on the day and providing you register your vehicle registration number in advance with estates.admin@yorksj.ac.uk or phone YSJ Events 01904 876893. Anyone not registered in advance will receive a parking ticket. The nearest alternative accessible parking is at Union Terrace car park.
