We aim to help with all aspects of life with sight loss.

Starting with a member of staff based in York Hospital’s Eye Clinic, our aim is to support you every step of the way, from advice on specialist equipment, to social activities, home visiting and vital emotional support.

Equipment and Information

Our Sight Loss Advisors offer specialist advice and support to help you manage the day to day challenges of living with sight loss.

Activities

We run a range of regular groups which give people the chance to share ideas, learn new skills and make friends. New members are always welcome.

Hospital Eye Clinic

Our Sight Support Service at York Hospital Eye Clinic is there to ensure that high quality emotional support is available when you need it most.

Stadium Sight Support

Our Sight Support Service is available to provide emotional and practical support to patients and their relatives and carers attending the eye clinic at the LNER Community Stadium.

Community Connect

With funding from the National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund, our Community Connect Project aims to build strong relationships and improve accessibility to places that matter to the sight loss community.

Counselling

Changes in your eyesight can sometimes be difficult to manage. Counselling is an opportunity to talk openly about how you feel in a confidential and supportive environment.

Befriending

MySight York’s free befriending service can be accessed either over the phone or in person. The aim is to bring joy and positivity to those living with sight loss in York, helping to reduce loneliness, isolation and providing practical support.
